Process and control

Run better than your best shift.

Most process losses come from a setting that has slowly drifted, a restart night shift handles differently, or a line running faster than the next station can absorb. Stamped's process optimisation finds better settings, control rules and restart routines for each line and recommends them to your process engineer.

Example actions

What the people who own the problem receive

  • Restart, for the shift lead

Keep the heater warm through short stops from A shift today, because last month's cold restarts sent [N] parts out of window.

  • Control, for the process engineer

The heater aim on Line 2 has drifted by about [N]°C over the past few weeks, so a corrected aim is ready for your review before the next step test.

  • Control rule, for the process engineer

A revised heater rule, tested on the line's model, holds the aim steady through stops where today's rule overshoots, so it is ready for a step test on Line 2.

  • Die change, for the cell lead

Run a few warm-up shots on cell 4 before releasing parts after the next die change, because the first shots after a change failed leak test more often last month.

Numbers in [brackets] are placeholders. Your pilot writes these from your own plant data.

How it works

How Stamped improves control

Stamped learns how each line behaves from its own history and builds a working model of it, a digital twin, so a new control rule is tried on the model before it is tried on parts. Learning-based control then searches for rules that hold the aim better than today's, and each result your team confirms makes the next recommendation better.

  1. 01

    Learn the line

Settings, restarts and outcomes, from the line's own history.

  2. 02

Try it on the model first

Candidate settings and control rules are tested before anything changes on the floor.

  3. 03

    Recommend, then check

Your engineer accepts, adjusts or turns it down, and the result is checked against your baseline.

Energy and load

Energy follows every operating decision.

A reheat or an hour of a furnace sitting hot and empty uses energy that never ends up in a good part. Because most of the saving comes from running the plant better, Stamped counts energy inside every action described above and measures it against your own baseline, with tariff windows and demand peaks treated as one input among many. On the utilities side it looks at compressors, air, steam and cooling, and moves load away from demand peaks where the plan allows. Less energy in every good part is also the most practical step toward decarbonisation, and for plants electrifying process heat, Stamped counts electricity per good part the same way.

In process and control: Restarts, reheats and settings that have drifted all use energy that never ends up in a good part, so every process recommendation shows what it does to energy per good part as well as to output and quality.

FAQ

Questions about process and control

How does Stamped improve process control?

Stamped builds a digital twin of each line from its own history and uses mathematical models of the process, reinforcement learning and machine learning to test better control policies before anything changes on the floor. It then recommends the improved setting, control rule or restart routine to your process engineer.

Where do most process losses come from?

Most process losses come from a setting that has slowly drifted, a restart that night shift handles differently from day shift, or a line running faster than the next station can absorb, far more often than from a broken machine.

Does Stamped change settings on the line by itself?

No. Stamped recommends and your team decides. Your process engineer can accept a recommendation, adjust it or turn it down, and new control policies are tested on the digital twin first.

How is energy counted in process recommendations?

Restarts, reheats and settings that have drifted all use energy that never ends up in a good part, so every process recommendation shows what it does to energy per good part as well as to output and quality.

Before you book

What owners usually ask us first.

What does it cost?
Only the pilot price is agreed at the survey. The pilot is paid and priced on its own, and the annual price comes after, based on the pilot's results.
What do we need to install?
Nothing new to start. Stamped connects to the machines, meters, ERP and registers you already have, and the survey tells you plainly if that is enough.
How much of my team's time?
Some hours with your plant head and your quality and maintenance leads during the survey, planned around production. In the pilot, actions reach the people who already own that work.
Is our data safe?
We sign an NDA before the survey. Stamped runs on a zero-trust architecture with encryption, your data is stored on cloud servers in India, and we work only with the data your team agrees to share.
